TONI&GUY Hair Salon

One of my fondest memories as a child was when I tried to cut my own hair. I took a pair of craft scissors and started snipping my hair in large chunks. It goes without saying that my “haircut” did not turn out well. Now many years later, I still cut my hair at home sometimes … but only my bangs, though!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit TONI&GUY hair salon in Yorkville and got my hair cut by Rob Pupo. I definitely wanted to cut a few inches off because I wanted to get rid of some split ends. However, my main concern was how thin my hair looked. I’ve always gotten my hair layered and thinned out and I was just not into that kind of look anymore. Rob gave me a blunt and choppy haircut that created more volume and evened out my hair lengths.

He is very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of tips on styling my hair. This TIGI Catwalk Sea Salt Spray is seriously the best thing ever. It is a texturizing spray that adds volume to your hair without weighing it down. You would spray this into wet hair and then blow dry. The end result is super voluminous and thick hair. My hair is naturally limp and fine so this spray did wonders for me. Currently, I am still using it after the shower and it does not leave a sticky residue in my hair. This definitely beats any other volumizing product I have tried in the past!

Look at that volume after a blow dry session! I wish my hair could look this full all the time.

After giving my hair some texture and volume, Rob went in with a hair straightener and created loose waves. Let me be honest here and tell you guys that I have no time to style my hair. I prefer sleep > having good hair in the morning so a quick run through with a straightener is what I usually do. Regardless, it’s pretty neat learning to create waves in case I ever decide to give this hairstyle a try.

Now that I have gotten a haircut, what should my next hair colour be?
