Hawaii has totally blown me away. Although I only got a little taste of Hawaii by exploring Oahu, the island has left me wanting to explore all of the islands in Hawaii!
One of the most memorable parts of this trip was staying at Shoreline Hotel. This hotel has everything! Great location, amazing food, fun decor, and impeccable customer service.
The key to a great hotel is location and the Shoreline Hotel could not be in a better location. It is located in the heart of Waikiki and in close proximity to amazing food spots and shopping. Since I am a foodie and a shopaholic, I could not be happier. I wish I could have stayed longer in Waikiki just to shop and eat! ….Oh and did I mention, it’s only a 5 minute walk from Waikiki Beach!!!
Some of my favourite food spots that were within a 5-10 minute walk of the hotel:
- Island Vintage Coffee (2233 Kalakaua Ave)
- Go for their iced coffee drinks and acai bowls… you will not be disappointed
- Marukame Udon (2310 Kuhio Ave)
- Hands down the best udon I’ve EVER had
- Banan (2301 Kalakaua Ave)
- Banana soft serve… super refreshing
- Waikiki Yokocho (2250 Kalakaua Ave)
- Food hall full of Japanese eats
- International Market Place (2330 Kalakaua Ave)
- So many amazing eats I don’t even know where to begin! There’s something for everyone
Favourite shopping in the area:
- Nordstrom Rack (2255 Kuhio Ave Suite 200)
- Ross (333 Seaside Ave)
- T Galleria by DFS (330 Royal Hawaiian Ave)
- 88 Tees (2168 Kalakaua Ave #2)
The Shoreline Waikiki is a colourful hotel that is super inviting and has some of the kindest hotel staff. As you can see, the interiors are full of bright and vibrant colours. It really makes it for a fun experience! I personally love the lobby. It is super inviting and a comfy place to relax. The hotel is beyond thoughtful to include a hydration station. There are fruit infused waters, tea, and coffee in the lobby. My favourite thing to do when I come back to the hotel at the end of a long day is grab a cup of fruit infused water.
Furthermore, they host weekly events in the lobby. I happen to be there during live music night! Loved the music and the yummy complimentary snacks that were offered. There were mochi desserts, rice crackers, dried fruit, and other fun snacks. Shoutouts to the front desk staff who informed me of the event!
Moving onto the room, I stayed in the junior suite. The room is super spacious and had more than enough room for all of my luggage! There is a lounge area and coffee table along with a balcony for amazing views of Waikiki. I love the room decor and the colour scheme. Most importantly, the king bed is beyond comfortable – one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. Rest assured, I had plenty of beauty sleep every day in this bed. Not to mention, the bathroom was clean and spacious. I also love the cute aloha towel rack!
During my stay, I managed to pay a visit to the rooftop pool. I went in the morning and it was super serene and calm. I love sitting by the pool with a good book and getting my tan on! Not to mention, there is a beautiful mural by the pool. FYI, the hotel does provide beach chair and towel rentals for free if you are heading to the beach.
On my way down from the pool, I noticed that even the stairs were painted with fun colours. I absolutely love the attention to detail!
Do not forget to pay a visit to Heavenly Island Lifestyle restaurant while you are staying at Shoreline! It is one of the most popular and delicious brunch spots in all of Honolulu. I can guarantee that any food you order from Heavenly Island Lifestyle will be fresh and delicious. I have seen long lines during brunch. If you do not want to wait, try to arrive very early in the morning right when the restaurant opens or later in the afternoon. Their brunch menu has a lot of variety and includes sweet and savoury dishes. My personal favourites were the omelette filled with fresh vegetables and french toast with Hawaiian fruits. If I had more room in my stomach, I definitely would have ordered the acai bowl too!
Overall, I had such an amazing experience staying at Shoreline Hotel. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Oahu and are interested in staying in Waikiki. Shoreline Hotel really knows how to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable!
